Home visits are reserved for patients who are housebound or too ill to come to the health centre. If you require a visit, please telephone before 11am.
The receptionist will ask what the reason for the visit is and whether you can attend the surgery. Please do not be offended by this as it is purely to enable the receptionist to pass on the correct details to the doctor. The doctor may phone you back before visiting to assess whether a visit is required.
The doctor may ask you to attend the surgery or may offer a telephone consultation.
All requests for home visits will be assessed by a doctor.
At home the doctor will only have limited equipment and it is often difficult to perform a full assessment of your symptoms. It is therefore essential that if it is at all possible that you attend the surgery to see the doctor.
